Sand Martins
Just after I'd taken the picture of the Rook, I noticed a lot of Sand Martins (and a single Swallow) flying past me. They circled round and went back to the cliff.

So I stood there trying to get a picture... ha ha!! Then my sister called me over. She was at the edge of the cliff!! She was looking sideways down to the cliff face where there were a lot of Martins flying in and out of nest holes.

I tried zooming in, but that was hopeless my reactions weren't quick enough, so took some wide angle shots instead!

It did mean I had to do quite a big crop in the end. But this camera does give me enough pixels to do so I think.

Well done! That one in the middle is well focused, and all the action blur shows what a lively scene it was. Nice one!

What a treat to get to watch a nesting colony of these beauties D. An excellent action shot of these fast flying beauties!!! First-rate!!!!

A wonderful sight to see, Delia! I was lucky enough to see quite a few Sand Martins in Scotland but I never saw any flying in or out of nest holes.

Well one was in focus Delia, LOL

A difficult subject in flight, does your camera have sports mode?
