Saturday fun..... (Ardea cinerea)

..... or Why don't you come a bit closer?

Last year, I think, was the first time a heron had been seen in the reeds to the right of the hide, so I wonder if this is the same guy.

He kept coming closer and closer and I couldn't zoom out fast enough (first day out with this camera!) so all I got was the head and neck.

It did make me laugh when I saw it on the wee screen, so.... saved it for SF. I just love that face.
