Saturday fun.....

Saturday fun.....

..... or Dipper dipping
..... or Made a mess of that one

One from the evening at Jedburgh and I really don't understand how this happened.

OK the camera was on Aperture Priority

Settings:

F stop - 8
Exp time - 1/14 sec
ISO - 800
Exposure bias - 0
Focal length - 185 mm

The light was pretty good, and I don't understand why the speed was so slow. Another picture of a dipper taken around the same time had a speed of 1/25 sec.

Think I need some lessons!!;)
Habitat
Rocky river
Location
Jedburgh, Scotland
Date taken
30 April 2015
Equipment used
Fuji Finepix HS50
Lovely fun shot, Delia!! tfs. Happens to me all the time too while shooting in low light.

I feel for you, sometimes I get blur photos too. Maybe go up higher on the ISO? Sometimes I have to set mine at 3200 ISO. Thanks for the fun photo Delia

Sometimes when the light gets a little low, especially at high zoom, with my camera I have to get off Aperture Priority and force the shutter speed higher in manual mode. The photo might turn out a little dark but that's easily fixed in pp. I'm not sure about your HS50 but I know with my Fuji going above iso 800 isn't worth it.

That being said, sometimes you end up with a nice Sat Fun photo, and this is an enjoyable entry. Nice one Delia!

A cracker of a Saturday shot ... with some difficult Monday arithmetic, LOL ... great work, Delia ...

Excellent camera settings for a sf picture.
Guess dipping dippers require a dipping dipper priority mode. LOL.

It looks like a 3D image Delia, you may need to send a few pairs of those funny specs with your next post......Lol.
P.S. I'd never heard the place name on your Geese post so just assumed it must be north of the border. The Norfolk link makes more sense as I have seen Egyptian geese there myself. Tks for the corrective info.
