Say's Phoebe (Sayornis saya saya)

Say's Phoebe is primarily a migrant and winter visitor to this area, although it is suspected to breed occasionally in eastern sections of the San Joaquin County. This image shows the butterscotch colored belly typical of the species. Overall coloration averages paler in Mexican populations which also have a larger bill.
