Scaly Ground-Roller MAD SER (Brachypteracias squamiger)

This bird was on the deeply shaded floor of primary rain forest at Mantadia National Park, Madagascar, where it was foraging for small prey in the leaf litter. I photographed it using flash during one of its pauses between sprints of running. The species is endemic to eastern Madagascar.
