Season - 52 (Athene brama)

The Season ... 52

Pair bonding is very
important for
most species ...

... this species, though
has a complicated
interaction ... where
multiple males are
known to mate with
one female ... and
females may mount for
what is described as
' Pseudocopulation '

... which again may be
part of something called
' Displacement Behavior '

... their Social and family
organization not fully
studied and
understood ...

What a fantastic image this is Alok!!! So beautifully captured side by side.

Absolutely gorgeous shot, Alok, and a very interesting narrative too. Thank you!

These two are absolutely beautiful. Two wonderful owls in one capture with some interesting words. I cannot comment it because this is nothing for a quick post but it is really an interesting behavior.
Wiki German describes their call with "chirurr-chirurr-chirurr", the English Wiki with "chirurr-chirurr-chirurr ending with a chirwak-chirwak". LOL.

Oh!! Very well spotted, they are a couple of sweeties, super capture Alok & Renu!!!
Dick.
