I gather the fake owl is meant to keep the gulls off this railing. The railing wasn't as packed as usual, but a few gulls weren't afraid of the "owl", and where one gull sits, others will soon come. Which may be why a gardener came out to chase these two gulls off just as I started taking this shot. By now, a month later, I'm sure the gulls have figured it out and the gardeners have probably given up as well.
Now back to cleaning up the house and baking a pie. Constitution Day tomorrow and a neighbor coming for dinner. I'll catch up browsing later this evening.
