Shaking off the rain (Nucifraga caryocatactes)

I did get some browsing done at the airport last night, but didn't quite catch up. Now trying to work very hard on my article so I can take the day off to go birding at the coast tomorrow. Will have to be up early tomorrow to catch the ferry with the rest of the group, and I plan to bake banana muffins for us all tonight, so may not catch up with BF browsing until tomorrow night, but hope to have some exciting storm guests to report to you then. Meanwhile ... here are the last three of last Fall's Nutcrackers. We'd had some rain showers that morning, but as you can see it was starting to clear up. This 'cracker has just shaken the rain out of his plumage.
