Sheltering
A rather wet day at home and I spotted this House Sparrow sheltering in a rather leafless part of the beech hedge.

The hedge belongs to a neighbouring property and he'd really gone to town on it in the autumn, cutting back into some old wood in parts, meaning there were no buds to form leaves.

It looks much better now, as the new growth has spread to cover the void - ain't nature wonderful!

A great view of this Sparrow with the perfect head turn D!

Nicely captured girl.

As are your photographs,
D, your story adding a
hacked-back note of
melancholy to this one,
the wet bird wondering
at Man's Folly.
