Short-eared Owl (Asio flammeus)

I arrived at my Local Reserve yesterday at 2.30 pm to find one of the Owls already hunting it was being mobbed by a number of Crows and had to dive for cover when it did resume hunting the Crows would return and drive it to the ground again, Very frustrating for a Photographer

A lovely capture of it hunting low over the ground. The ones we have are sometimes out all day but mostly it's early morning and late afternoon.

It may be frustrating but its worth it when you get great resullts like this JT.
fantastic shot, great detail and setting.
thanks
