Corsican citril finch
I've seen these little beauties several times both in Sardina and in Corsica. They are quite localized but abundant in proper habitats: in Corsica in the 1400-1800 m. range they are sometimes the dominant species.
And, good for us, they are in general tame and curious enough to allow some good shots...
Habitat
Mountains with scattered trees and bushes
Location
Restonica, Corsica
Date taken
june 2008
Scientific name
Carduelis corsicana
Equipment used
1DmkIII + 300 mm f4
A bird i have never seen but would very much like to after seeing this image.
cheers

Excellent and bright capture, Stefano, great to see this fellow in the open well exposed to the camera!!! :t: :t:  Here they are usually found among the Pine-Trees and in the shade...

Thanks everybody for your comments..
Marian in this case light was even too much and too hard, anyway I've observed they tend to prefer scrub area rather than woodlands in Sardinia/Corsica
