Frilled Neck Lizard

Frilled Neck Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii)

This big guy was brought to the vet with a damaged frill. It was necrotic and smelly, so the vet trimmed it back and put skin glue on it. They then called me (wildcare volunteer) to keep it safe for a few days and then release. Here he is with his partial frill, standing his ground after I released him from the bag. They are never big on gratitude for the care they are given, but still a good feeling to see one go back where he came from.
