Lesser Redpoll with 'copper' crown. (Carduelis cabaret)

A female Lesser Redpoll with copper/chestnut crown. Not too out of the ordinary and just a record shot, but different enough for the 'odd bird' category.
Location
Hertfordshire, England
Date taken
02-01-10
Scientific name
Carduelis cabaret
First post for nearly a year, why Andy? Super detailed image of a very beautiful bird, great stuff mate!!!!!!!

I've noticed quite a bit of variation in them this year. Some like this and some with next to no coloured crown at all but others brilliant red. It's been a pretty good winter for them locally.
