Nice shot, jourdaj, I love the Wood Ducks, thanks. However, there is no female in the photo. The bird on the left is a mature male and the bird on the right is probably an immature male though it could possibly be a moulting adult male also.
 
Sorry all! You're right. The bird on the right is indeed a male. Maybe next time I'll pay attention to small details like plumage, sex, etc....
