A pretty appalling attempt if you ask me !

I'm not going to ask you John. I will tell you that I think that this is an excellent shot of a Nuthatch preparing to take off from the branch. In my very limited experience of these birds I have found that they are either happy to hang about on feeders for ages or move quickly through the trees and bushes. You have captured the latter perfectly.
 
I'd've been chuffed just to see one, let alone get such a neatly posed shot of one.
