Red Flasher
Red Flasher also known as the Prola Beauty (Panacea prola: Nymphalidae). Its response to intruders into its territory is by flashing its red underside hindwings thus giving it the common name Red Flasher. It has a wing-span of 6.35 cm (2 1/2). Photographed in Boca Manu through a screen window, situated along the banks of Rio Madre de Dios just down river from the confluence of Rio Manu, in the Madre de Dios Region, Manu Province.
