After the rain (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)

.... the sun came out again. It's been more like April showers this week.

We'd been at Kinnordy for quite a while before any birds came close enough for pictures.

There were quite a few flies on the water and after feeding for a bit this gull decided it was time for a wash and brush up; this was taken as he re-surfaced, so there's still some drops of water flying about.

I just love the colour from the early evening sun on the ripples in this shot.
