Aerial art

I am always interested in interesting flight formations, created by birds. Yesterday at Martinmere, 43 Avocets, spooked by two hunting Marsh harriers, flew around putting on a good show. This is a massive crop and I have enhanced the colours a little, but I just love the pattern they have created, as they wheel and dive around.

This looked promising even as a thumbnail, Annette, but it certainly exceeded my high expectations! A beautiful exhilarating image that also works as abstract art.
