Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe)

Since I concentrate on urban Peregrines and trying to find Black Redstart from March to August I get little opportunity to do anything else so my portfolio is a bit thin. I have spent several days on Holcombe Hill targeting migratory moorland birds before they are gone. My legs and lungs are no good at walking up those hills...I am exhausted. So I'll be out the house in a few mins and back again by 9.00pm exhausted ...but I love it!
This is a bird in a landscape type image and when such images work I prefer them to close ups. The trouble is they rarely work well because all the elements have to come together which they rarely do. The image is full frame.

A cracker of a shot and setting Adrian, I too struggle these days walking up hills so I tend to keep to the flat walks, many tfs.

Climbing those hills is hard work, but you've been rewarded with this beautiful composition of lovely colours. A photographers image Adrian, well balanced, and a great shot of this little beauty. Keep going mate, there's more out there waiting for you.

This is gorgeous! Love the setting & very nice work (by some kind soul) to create that perfect perch.
