I occasionally hear and almost never see this rare species in the highland habitats of Poas Volcano. I was very pleased to show this bird to a client and get nice shots of it.

Thanks for the comments! Unlike the Ferruginous Pygmy Owl, this one is pretty tough to see so I was very pleased to get at least some sort of photo of it- was raining the entire time.
