Lifer (Anas Poecilorhyncha)

A leucistic Lifer ...

Spot-billed Duck

My first-ever Leucistic
bird shot ...

The bird was present
in a remote
water-body ...

... to reach it we
had to go through the
tilled fields ...
driving on
dirt-tracks for
about 10 km. ...

There was a flock
of about 15 normally
colored individuals ...

... in the midst of
them it was floating
peacefully ...

Color of the iris
appeared normal ...
... though, I can not
be absolutely sure
about it ... as it was
a long distance
away ...

Perhaps your neck of the woods is a healthier place for the bird life Alok. A lovely example of this leucistic Duck.

Congratulations on finding this little one. I'm glad to see the others aren't being mean to him as they sometimes do. A great image and sighting.
