Bassenthwaite Lake

Went to Cumbria to visit my mother a couple of months ago and got over to see the Ospreys at Bassenthwaite. Enjoyed a walk along the lake shore at Blackstock Point, where I took this photo, looking east across to the Osprey Viewpoints in Dodd Wood. The Osprey nest is in the marshy fields at the southern end of the lake, off to the right in the photo. Some years ago they had a nest in Dodd Wood, only a few hundred yards from the Upper Viewpoint. This year's viewing season ends on 31st August.
