I don't think I've heard of this one before Adey!

What a great picture you've taken of him lad - with loads of great detail, especially the wing webbing.

Very well done lad.
 
I'd not heard of it either, Delia! Luckily I'd got my European dragonfly fieldguide with me to sort it out on the spot - the darters, etc. are near the end of the book so it took a while to locate it! It's one of those African species that has spread northwards into southern Europe in recent decades.
