Spix Macaw (Cyanopsitta spixii)

A watecolour I did last year , illustrating the extinct in nature Spix macaw(still exists in captivity), as a contribution to a (forthcoming) book about endangered animals.I decided to keep the background monochromatic , aimimg to focus on the main subject, the colourful birds. Brilliant painting, the tones are spot on, the contrast between the birds and the background is an excellent idea. A real work of art!
