Kolleru wetland

The last lake with water ....all others have all but dried up...this would have been too had it not been for the Forest Department which is employing several diesel pumpsets to pump in water from surrounding canals. This water is expected to last for few weeks at the most and the birds will be off to other parts of the country in search of other wetlands!

Sadly that is the story everywhere. A fantastic wetland scene with so many species together captured beautifully; Doc!! tfs.

An amazing amount of Waders but I suppose the sparsity of water brings them all together.

Very beautiful but sad as well. I thought "Hopefully a wetland with future" and found
Wetlands for our future; Sustainable livelihoods.
