Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

Regarding my last posting of the eagles, I should have told you that the eagles were still too young to actually mate. Their heads and tails turn completely white at about 4-5 years of age and that is when they reach sexual maturity.
This image is a very large crop but this eagle has reached adulthood. I've seen two adults here so I'm hoping another juvenile will arrive in the future.

Beautiful Vicki...Is there a way of sexing males from females just by looking at them?

Mali, I'm sure not an expert on birds, but I' reading the female is a third larger than the male. There are other differences also. I'm not sure I could ever tell the difference.
