Brings back memories Mo. We had a similar one in my grandad's house (will check if its still there next time I visit). Have tried to use it (unsuccessfully) as a kid:)

nice to see one again mo, i started with one of these only the model ii type.
my father took it to the coal mine fitting shop and had a trypod made and a
spring catch made which it was set off by. in them days i would set up on a nest
and sat in a hide and pulled the fishing line which was tied to the spring catch
and had to go and wind the film on after each shot. a bit better now a days, lol.....

And we called them "Brownie Box". For some reason, between using film and paying for pics that came out terribly, Digital is soooo much better

What a lovely gift, mo. And in such good condition. I wonder if you can still get film for such an old camera.

I remember that my dad owned a box camera when I was a little boy. That is quite a wonderful gift to get Mo; because they are seldom seen these days.

Wow, lovely shot of this old camera. I remember having had one in the 1950s, something I'd completely forgotten about. Thanks for the memories! Good to see you again in the Gallery Mo.
