Sunflower Bee
Sunflower Bee (Svastra obliqua: Apidae) 1.4-1.6 cm (0.55-0.63 in) long. Foraging on Common Sunflower (Helianthus annuus: Asteraceae).
Habitat
Coastal Prairie and Marshes Vegetational Area. Mixed pine/hardwood forest and small patches of open prairie with cultivated plants around the nature center at ca. 14 m (46 ft) elevation.
Location
Houston Arboretum, Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA.
