Texas Dog-day Cicada (Tibicen texanus: Cicadidae) This noise maker is 2.6-2.8 cm (1.0-1.1 in) long.

This will be my last posy for three weeks. My wife and I are off to Peru again. I am going to miss seeing everyones post. Happy birding and bird photography to everyone.

Blackland Prairies Vegeational Area. Ashe Juniper and Texas dominated woods at ca. 202 m (663 ft)
