White-tailed kite with old wounds (elanus leucurus)

Some time ago, I posted a perching view of this one-eyed Kite (https://www.birdforum.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/609029/ppuser/146952). Here he is in flight.

You can see he took a nasty wound to his right wing, lost his right eye, and has some scarring on his head above the right eye. Amazing that he survived and is doing so well now.

Glad to hear it is doing so well and a lovely illustration of his abilities in this flight image Marc!

These are some of my favorite birds in the galaxy!! I am so impressed in his ability to keep things going, having lost one of the most valuable tools these birds need for survival! Amazing photo of this awesome sight!

It's wonderful to hear that he's coping so well despite his injures Marc... I hope he manages to continue!

Always such a shame when you see a creature so damaged, isn't it.

A super picture you've taken of him lad - very well done.
