Magpie (Pica Pica)

A somewhat strange contrast to have this beautiful birds, one of my favourite species', sitting on a fence post close to barbed wire.
It's hard to believe but this is 156x magnification with my Kowa Prominar 883, the TE 11 eyepiece and two Kowa EX-16 extenders stacked; camera is my iPhone 6s in my Kowa TSN-IP6 adapter.
The magpie was about 80 yards from my house in a meadow.
I cropped the picture, but it's the original resolution.

There are times when I miss my digiscoping days when I see images like this but it all got too dang heavy to carry around. Nicely captured.

I very, very rarely see Magpies here.
 
Thanks for your kind comments. Magpies are protected by law in Germany. They had become quite rare over here as well, but by now they are quite frequent again. Very clever and nice birds they are.
