Cheeky visitor

Thank you for the lovely comments on my exciting (for me) marsh tit.

This bug landed on my newly laid kitchen floor. I have no idea what it is, but thought it a cheeky visitor.

Well detailed ... looks to be wearing a microchip on the wings ...
Nice work, Kits ... tfs ...

Nicely captured there Kits and it certainly is trying to blend in well with your new floor.

It looks to me like one of the many species of Mirid or Capsid bugs perhaps ?

Cheers
John

Hi Kits, I think I can recognise this bug ( my eyesight isn't very good in electric lighting). It is probably a Western Conifer Seed Bug leptoglossus occidentalis. It is native to North America, but has reached Western Europe. A few weeks ago I saw one on the outside of my French window. Maybe trying to find a place inside where to winter,,.there are conifers in the property where I live. I suppose you have got conifers in your garden too.A great capture of this bug.
