Frilled Dragon
Doc Duck

Frilled Dragon (Chlamydosaurus kingii)

or Frilled Agama, or Frilled Lizard, or Frilled-necked Lizard. One of our group keeps reptiles as a hobby, including one "Frilly", so when he spotted this Frilly on a tree trunk we had to pull a quick stop and pile out to see it. Wherever we stood, the lizard was quick to move to the far side of the trunk. So since my camera wasn't working well, I volunteered to approach the side with worst light so the others could get good shots when it moved towards them. I did get this shot for myself, tho'.
Habitat
Dry tropical forest
Location
Kakadu NP, NT, Australia
Date taken
23 Aug 2018
Scientific name
Chlamydosaurus kingii
Equipment used
D90, 80-400
Its camouflage technique was not entirely successful. Well spotted and captured.
I currently believe that my veggie hide was better.
