Stoat.

While watching short eared owl out over the moor, I noticed this stoat making its way along the heather banking, then started to climb the fence post and have a sniff about, only thing I could think why it done that is maybe the owls had used the post to eat some prey on. so im sticking to that,,,lol.

Gosh!! What interesting behaviour. I can't really think of a reason to top your idea Andy, possibly a regular feeding post and there've been bits left there in the past.
