Emerald toucanet (1/2) (aulacorhynchus albivitta)

Observing these is quite something.

When I grew up I somehow got the impression that one had to go to the Amazon jungle to see anything resembling a Toucan.

When I finally took up birding at age 41, I was surprised to find these so close to where I live.

It's not really "rare", but it's not that easy to find/see either. Despite not being large, it's an impressive bird to observe. It radiates "wilderness".
