Saturday fun - red listed visitor (Dryobates minor)

I never usually photograph birds on our feeders but the whole point of this picture is that there's a Lesser spotted woodpecker on our peanut feeder. She's been paying us a visit now and again since the beginning of March. We're hoping a a male comes along. It's been years since we had Lesser spotted woodpeckers in our neighbourhood and I seldom see them anywhere any more.

Oh how wonderful Graham... they're such sweet wee woodies these, aren't they.

Lets hope hubby comes along soon and you get to see some bairns as well.

Many thanks for showing us this lovely picture my friend.

Glad it's been coming by and fingers crossed for a guy for her ;) A great capture Graham!

Congratulations on capturing this rarity on your feeder Graham, tfs. Have this wee dram on me 🥃 mate.

Ah, so this is her Tinder-posting? I hope a male somewhere nearby is looking ;) We supposedly have a couple of pairs here in Trondheim, but I've only seen one individual, many years ago, at the very top of a tree ... and it flew before I got a shot. Oh well. I'll keep looking.

Congratulations on this rare visitor. I do hope a mate will come along soon. Great job.
