A bit different (Cucumis myriocarpus)

As we drove through the Bunyeroo Gorge, I spotted these weird growths, which Adrienne kindly identified as Paddy Melons.

Apparently they're an invasive weed introduced from Africa in the 1800's along with the Camels (do they eat them I wonder?)

Excellent capture of those unusual weed Delia, tfs. Out of the four Ospreys theres only one left on the nest now.

Had to look these up. Didn't see any on my trip, but then I didn't cover as much territory as you. They're related to watermelons ... but TOXIC, fruit and leaves both. Why on earth would anyone introduce them???
