Wow, you were close. That lighting looks like it was real difficult but you've managed to get a great shot. Well done.
 
Thanks Sean - yes very close.
The lighting was really tough - had to dial in +2 exposure coz was using flash - sun was almost directly overhead & light was very flat.

(sorry just checked - light was directly behind the bird but was still very harsh & needed the flash otherwise would have just been a black blob)
 
I think you and this Heron must greet each other, and I think you ought to be paying it fees for its pictures.

Great as always.
