Bonellis Warbler
Ive been terribly lucky last weekend getting a pic of this common but hard to photograph Southern species! As Ive noticed there are not many pictures of it in the gallery here I am contributing with my result! o:)

I was shooting a sort of mouse on the ground whenI heard the characteristic trill of the Bonellis Warbler right behind me, I turned around and there it was almost in the open and very close. Only had time for 3 shots, this is the first one, the second is a blurred body in the air and the third an empty branch! ;) But Im very happy with this, not a great pic but shows well the features of this charming little chap.
Habitat
Mixed forest with Oak Trees and others.
Location
Urrez, by Sierra de la Demanda, Burgos Province, Spain
Date taken
4 May 2008
Scientific name
Phylloscopus bonelli
Equipment used
Leica V-LUX 1 (handheld, ISO100, f/4.0, 1/200s, 0.0eV)
Great opportunity indeed Marian, thanks for sharing this fine capture ... your shot sequence reminds me of the same results I usually get when I'm badly pressed ;)

Nice one! Don't you just wish you could have reached out and cut off that branch. Sometimes I wonder if birds intentionally put something between them and us. Happens to me all the time.

Many thanks, Sean, Max and Richard!!!

Max, I count mainly on you and Luigi (Picus) to take a proper picture for the gallery, there are only 3-4 pictures of Bonelli's Warbler here! :eek!: Richard, don't mention the twig! :-C I didn't think of posting this untill I noticed our lack of this bird, otherwise it would stay nicely in my archives! At least it is sharp enough and I don't feel too ashamed of posting it! ;)

Not a great pic Marian??? It's a superb Picture, much better than i could do.
Well done Girl, your bird trip was very fruitful i see ;) :t::t::t:

Well done Marian, it's a beautiful capture, I'ld be more than pleased with it :t::t::t:

Marian, I've never even heard of this bird - and this is a fine shot, regardless of the twig! I'm sure Broc is right - they do it on purpose - at least this one had the good manners not to have the twig across its eye. :'D
