Another visit to Boundary Bay to check out the visitors from the north.. Snowys still in abundance as well as harriers and short eared owls. It was fun watching the harriers and short eared owls tussle over territory and prey in aerial dogfights as well on the ground. The short eared seemed to be better hunters and the harriers would wait and try to steal the voles and mice after a succesful owl capture. There was no clear winner as the owls seemed to maintain their catch most of the time.The owls kept their distance and I'm still waiting for the good close shot of one of them!
