Northern Harrier (female) (Circus hudsonius)

Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline (Oakland, CA, USA) at about 130m. Also known as the Hen Harrier.

This lady was out hunting. It's great watching them soar around and then low-altitude "hover hunt." There were at least two out-and-about this day.

What a super picture you've taken of this hunting harrier Kevin!! They're wonderful to watch, aren't they.

What's the bird sitting in the bush.... and it looks like there's an egret species in the background too.

It's all happening here, isn't it LOL

I like to watch to hunt to Kevin. They are fabulous raptors with a master of their environment. Fabulous picture!!!
