He's got such beautiful markings in his plumage, doesn't he Brian. What a great picture you've taken of him lad.

Thank you everybody. He is a fine specimen isn't he. It was a small flock of about a dozen we came across on a morning drive. The plumage detail is quite special. I wondered at first if there was some diffraction or moir but there isn't. The markings are fine detail in the feathers.
