Torresian Imperial Pigeon (Ducula spilorrhoa)

I got a whole series of shots of this pigeon foraging fruits from this date palm, and later of two on a street light stanchion. Aren't they beautiful creatures? One of the series (not this shot) may be the best shot I got the whole trip, but I'll keep that one for last from 18 Aug. And yes, Torresian Imperial P. was another lifer.

He sure is a beauty Ann!!!

A cracking picture that too lass. And what about the setting too? That really sets him off very nicely.

Lovely to see for me. My first capture of a bird in Australia was a breeding pigeon in a palm tree close to my holiday apartment in Cairns.

a superb pigeon indeed, Ann!! and congratulations with all those lifers. top class, many tfs!!!

This is one bird that I've had trouble getting a decent shot of - they've always been too far away. This is a nice image, well done Ann.
