The Baby
This Jocotoco Antpitta was following its dad into the feeding area when I visited. The guide explained that it was "the baby", but as we could clearly see, dad was getting tired of parenting and wanted the youngster to leave his area. He chased him away several times, so time to stand on own legs (literally).

For those who don't know, this is a species that was discovered in the mid 1990ties, and the discoverers founded Fundacion Jocotoco to protect its habitat. The foundation has grown to be the biggest private reserve foundation in Ecuador.
