Skiftende skydekke (Bucephala clangula)

The title is what the weather that day is called in Norwegian. Been a long time since I've listened to weather forecasts in English, but I think the phrase is "variable cloudiness" ...? Anyway, the sun must have ducked behind a cloud when I was taking this shot, as the river is reflecting only grey.
Habitat
river

Gseparken, Nidelven, Trondheim, Norway
Date taken
25 Feb 2020
Scientific name
Bucephala clangula

i pray for such weather to get less harsh shadows when i take pictures after 8:30 am, and it was like this yesterday, but birds were not in the mood to pose.

Maybe... but it makes for a lovely monotone image, and that golden eye shines out like a beacon!!!

A beautiful image this Ann - many thanks lass.

Not sure I've ever heard our forecasters say 'variable' cloud. Not really sure what they'd say. I'll perhaps need to listen more carefully in future!! LOL
