Skyline Oystercatchers

Skyline Oystercatchers (Haematopus ostralegus)

When I stopped the car to take the previous picture, these Oystercatchers were in the field opposite but they flew.

Anyway after I'd taken the swamp picture, I saw they'd settled on the skyline at the top of the field - I thought it made an interesting shot.

I heard a Peewit amongst them, but never could see it.

Thanks for entering my mini-quiz yesterday. All correct, well done. I was hoping someone would notice that 'thing' by the post as I wasn't sure, but on reflection I don't think it was a bird.

It's a super shot Delia, and a splendid composition; the contrast between skyline and the landscape is really eye catching. Like it very much.

A gorgeous picture of these beautiful birds on the skyline D. The color of the soil is a nice contract and helps the birds really stand out. Exceptional!!!

Great capture of this busy crew, Delia. Hearing a bird but never seeing it...that's the story of my life!;) Thanks for sharing:t:
