Slaty-legged Crake (Rallina eurizonoides)

Of all places, this crake decided to spend most part of its winter at a basement carpark of a condominium. Like most water birds, they will freeze when felt threatened thinking that predator will not see them. Not in this case. We saw it alright and because it kept so still, I shot it handheld at 1/25s :) The result came out pretty decent.

Although classified as Least Concern by IUCN, it is a rare winter visitor/passage migrant to Singapore.

What a strange place to live, See Toh! A fabulous low level study of him.
