Slender-billed miner? (Geositta sp)

Not sure of identity of this species, appeared larger and darker than Common miner and eyestripe very distinct. At Isla Taquile in Lake Titicaca in rocky gully in August 2008. Any views would be welcome.
Habitat
Puna rocky gully
Location
Isla Tequile, Puno
Date taken
16 August 2008
Scientific name
Geositta sp
Equipment used
Fujifilm S5500
I don't know the species well, Peter, but based on the reading I'm doing your subject seems to match. I'd say yes to the Slender-billed Miner. Good catch, BTW! :t:

Nice to see an image of a high-Andean bird. Its looking a lot like a Cinclodes (probably Bar-winged Cinclodes) to me though. Slender-billed Miner (Geositta tenuirostris) has a down-curved bill and is paler above. Eyestripe also doesn't stand out as much. It also has longer wings. Miners are reminiscent of Lark species.

Thanks for your comments and views, I think I'll have to put it in my book as 'undentified' and just wish I had had time to check it out - (we were being hustled back to the boat to Puno!). Probably best if I withdraw it from the gallery in a few days.
Ta again.

Peter
