Not at all bad,Don.The drops of water on the Smew's back look sharp to us,thus the plumage would be reasonably sharp as well(if one could only get all one's subjects to within 20 feet!).One normally only sees males posted.Thus this is a treat for us, having left Europe some 62 years ago,never to return for serious birding.Many thanks.
