I don't think that would happen, though. The most House Sparrows I've seen feeding at mine is three. and it copes with that just fine. Where my issue was with about a dozen (or more) .Starlings fighting to get in/on; I now chase them off. I do spread some feed on the window ledge which they can go for.

I was possibly not disciplined enough at the beginning to re-do the suction cups. Go on... go for it, it's great getting close-up views of the birds.
